Friday Lunch: Writing Syria
Fri 28 April, 1pm, Brander Kitchen
with Hasan Youssef
Hasan M. Youssef worked as the main cultural editor, and a satirical columnist, for the Tishreen Journal in Damascus for thirty years. Still residing in Damascus, Hasan is a freelance writer and has written for many books, TV series and theatrical plays over the course of a vibrant career. His work has been translated into several languages and in 2014 he was named among the top 100 most influential Arab people in the world.
As part of our programme of connecting with people from countries where there are significant barriers to freedom of movement, Hasan will join us via Skype to talk to us about life and work in Syria.
All welcome for lunch, talk and discussion.
