Room to Roam Festival
9-11 Aug 2013, Huntly
Weekend of events celebrating our place here, there and everywhere.
Join people from all walks of life in exploring the notion of travel and place through walks, discussions, safaris, dancing, music, food and drink.
The weekend's events centre around the Pride of Place Project from the Caravan Gallery's alternative tourist office, on Saturday 10th August you can enjoy a staycation in Huntly Town Square, for full itinerary click here.
On Sunday the festival moves out of town for a walk with Simon Yates (Mountaineer from book and film 'Touching the Void') and Stuart McAdam, along the former railway lines that link the Moray coast with the Aberdeenshire heartland.
This is followed by a talk by Simon Yates, and a discussion exploring the different ways we experience places through walking; from the extreme to the ramble to the slow investigation. For more information click here.
The programme is complemented by a ceilidh on the Friday with the Strathbogie Fiddlers and the Huntly Music Summer School finale concert on the Saturday, providing the perfect match for a weekend of fun and in and outdoor events.
