Several of the hills surrounding Huntly are now planted with wind turbines. Following a heated discussion of pros versus cons, Scottish-based artist duo Matthew Dalziel and Louise Scullion digitally combined romantic images of the landscape with images of the turbines being constructed and installed. The works were presented on billboards, both in the rural hinterland of Huntly (where wind farms were planned) as well as in eleven cities across the UK (where most of the energy consumption takes place), enabling a wide audience to consider our landscape in terms of function and the sublime.
