John and Christopher spent three weeks recording the human and environmental sounds of the town, combining them with regional instruments, such as the carnyx, and electronic instrumentation to arrive at a suite of soundscapes or tone poems. The CD may be enjoyed as a discreet sonic-snapshot of Huntly whereby the listener moves between the accent and cadence of the Doric speech through the course of the River Deveron. Doric was premiered during a concert entitled Poemes Electroniques at Halloween in Huntly.
